The Bobinski Method
Melzak and Wall proposed a new way of thinking about pain in 1965. Their "Pain Gate Mechanism" is now well established and should be considered when you think about your injury. Pain is modulated up and down by our emotional state and our beliefs. Thinking your injury is bad makes it worse. This is not to disregard the pain associated with severe injury such as a fall out of a tree or getting hit by a car. But your confidence in your body's ability to heal and belief that it will heal are important components to healing. Click on this image below to hear Dr. Ron Melzak explain this in his own words.
